Life is food, food is life. Long time ago now I left my dreams of becoming a suprslim fit maniac and became someone who is not fat, but definitely enjoys pasta.
Brunching is my new thing. Two of my favourite things in the world are bloody marys and eating, so why not combine these two and on an unlimited scale to a point where you can’t physically move. Especially when you have a massive hangover. Extra -especially if you finish your brunch just in time for the pub to open (woohoo!).
Some time ago now I have booked a table for myself and my favourite American person at the Sea Containers. The fact that we are both hanging terribly from a previous night (where we went out for 1 drink to be home at 8 and ended up having 8 drinks and back home at 1) made us even more hungry and thirsty. We were welcomed by a very friendly lady who took our jackets (who has also asked if I made my jacket myself. Till now I am not sure of she was complimenting me or insulting me in a very polite, British way). Here we go, unlimited 2h Bloody Mary extravaganza with a rather giant helping of potato hash with egg and macaroni and cheese. Needles to say we were not talking much stuffing our faces, but all worth it as the food was DELICIOUS.
Also, few months back I took my rather special other half for his birthday brunch to the HotBox. Voted boldly the best brunch in London, we had to book few weeks in advance and waited patiently for the day to come. Disappointment was it not! After ordering blue corn tacos and truffled chicken with waffles – which in fact was the best chicken and waffles I have ever had – we rather cautiously welcomed 5 different types of Bloody Mary, from the classic to green Bloody Mary . I could hardly move half way through our booking slot so I have decided it will be a good idea to order French toast and some prosecco (at HotBox you can pick and mix drinks and not many brunch places do it!), which turned out to be bigger than my head, but oh so scrumptious.
Barely rolled out of the place but it was all worth it!
Until the next foodporn extravaganza!
