Greece, beautiful Greece.

Hardly recovered from polish adventures, here we went again. Hello Crete!

17 blissful days of sea, sunshine, fresh seafood, giant doughnuts on the beach, wine and raki. Loads and loads of raki.

Hotel Kalypso we stayed in was absolutely amazing, guys couldn’t do enough to make us feel like we are part of a family.

After arriving at the hotel at early evening we had a quick bite to eat and we went to explore what’s around. It wasn’t until 3am when we got back after numerous sets of giggles we somehow managed to develop (must be the raki) and walk through fields, motorway and a building site, where all I could think about were movies like Hills have eyes and wrong turn.

Surviving the walk (and the giggles) we didn’t actually do much for the whole holidays. Drained after months of hard work in crowded London it was nice just to sit on hot sand and enjoy a cocktail or two. So much so I gained significant amount of fat around my hips (and serious case of double chin!). We got to go on couple of mountain trips and a wedding anniversary trip to Santorini! YES! I cannot believe it’s been 5 years since I got married, it feels like it was only couple of months ago. I always wanted to visit Santorini and have been banging on about it to my other half for some time now, but how disappointed I was when we arrived and the place was absolutely rammed with tourists ( I refuse to call myself a tourist, I’m a traveller ;-). It felt like London’s Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon. I was hit with selfie sticks left, right and centre and to take a picture without any of the madness on it we literally had to half climb on some roofs! I think the highlight of the trip was a ferry back to Crete, where 90% people on board were German and all TVs and screens were playing Discovery Channel and documentary about Nazis. DON’T MENTION THE WAR! I give ferry company 5 stars just for the comedy factor.

We ate a lot, drank a lot, my skin managed to peel 3 times over and I still got back in UK looking like Ross from Friends when he had his freak spray tan accident. Back in the UK at 4 am and back at work for 9…I almost feel like I didn’t have any holidays..

Until the next one!
