One of the many, many, MANY amazing beaches is in Palaiokastritsa (a bit of a mouthful!). On the same side of the island as Agios Gordios, it is surrounded bu sharp cliffs and pointy rocks but because of this the water is crystal clear and has a tantalising shade of blue and green. Right on a small beach (there is also larger beach about 15 minutes walk) there is Akron Bar – quite swanky place with chilled music, white beds, delicious food and even a swimming pool you can use.

The food is what I can describe as modern greek cuisine – they use all the local produce but in slightly elevated fair. We have arrived at this place by a boat you can rent from just round the corner (from a great guy called Babis), feeling like a real James Bond moment (no guns blazing!).
The food in Akron is really a great concept using local cheeses to produce sauces, artichoke purees and surf and turf with prawns and pork but also cultivating the tradition with dishes like traditional pasta and anchovies on toast.

After the meal you can sail in your boat towards the sunset or just sit by the pool sipping cold cocktails and enjoying the sunchine,
