corfu

What a year 2020 is! Pandemic, lock down, second lockdown, US on fire (politically and literally).

When I thought any travel will be impossible this year, we have managed to quickly dash to beautiful Corfu at the end of the summer.

Corfu is an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea, It’s beautiful culture and architecture reflects years spent under Venetian, French and British rule before it was united with Greece in 1864. Corfu Town with 2 imposing Venetian fortresses, features winding medieval lanes, a French-style arcade and the grand Palace of St. Michael and St. George. Corfu Town has an amazing feel to it, with tight, cobbled streets and old buildings you feel like you are transported to magical place.

Apart from being beautiful, Corfu Town has some of the best restaurants I ever visited (and that says it all) and is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and turquoise water.

You can always find things to do in Corfu Town, from a spot of shopping in many local shops, having delicious lunch in many local restaurants to sipping a cocktail by the sea and even having a dip if you feel like it!

In the next few posts I will be going through some of the amazing beaches, bars and restaurants I visited – hopefully you will enjoy the last views of summer!
