Without a doubt, Budapest is one of my favourite places in Europe. It is super chilled with beautiful architecture split on both side of the Danube river and not to forget the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
I have been to Budapest numerous time now and every time there is more places to visit and explore – from traditional, cheap eateries (which are absolutely amazing) to Michelin starred restaurants serving outstanding set menus that do not cost a bomb.
What is also wort mentioning, Hungary has a massive wine region and the local wine selection is exceptional, from white, crisp Sauvignon, through Pinot Noire to rich and full bodied reds and sweet wines like Tokaj, something that is definitely worth a try.
Below just a few pictures from the restaurants we ate at – it is hard to list them as we ate for the full 4 days – breakfasts, lunch and dinners with wine selections and breaks for sweet cakes and a champagne…hard life, but someone’s gotta do it!
